Product Overview

The Self-Centering Fixture is a premium accessory designed for the xTool F1. This fixture is engineered to optimize the precision and efficiency of your xTool F1. It consists of three main components: the center bolt, which serves as the axis for rotation and overall tension, four indexing screws to fasten the upper and lower discs together, and a tension lever for adjustments. This fixture is notable for its easy installation and operation, enhancing the functionality of your xTool F1. Made from PETG-CF, a strong and durable material, it is built to withstand regular use while maintaining its performance. Minor calibration may be necessary for optimal performance.

Installation Instructions

1. Take out the removable baseplate from the base of xTool F1.
2. Insert the self-centering fixture into the opening at the base of the xTool F1. While it can be inserted in any direction, ensure that the base is positioned with the lever towards the rear of the xTool F1. This will allow the cover to close when the tension lever is engaged.

Operating Instructions

The two discs in the system function through a mechanism of rotating in opposite directions. This rotation can either lead to the opening or closing of the pins that are an integral part of the system. When there's an item placed on the fixture and the pins are in the process of closing, the system is designed in such a way that it automatically ensures the item is centered with the fixture. This automatic centering is a key feature of the system, ensuring precision and accuracy in its operation.

To Open the pins, rotate the upper disc clockwise and the lower disc counterclockwise.

To Close the pins, rotate the upper disc counterclockwise and the lower disc clockwise.

The self-centering fixture consists of 3 tensioning components.

1. The Center Bolt
1. This serves as the axis for rotational action and overall tension.
2. This should be tightened just enough so that the discs rotate freely but don’t excessively spin.
3. To dial this in:
1. Rotate the discs until the pins are in their smallest configuration.
2. Use the 3mm hex driver to tighten the center bolt until to feel the bolt become snug.
3. Rotate the lever counterclockwise a quarter turn.
2. The 4 Indexing Pins
1. Adjusting these will cause the upper and lower discs to be fastened together, preventing them from rotating separately. Depending on your needs only one may need to be adjusted.
2. When making adjustments to the disks ensure the sleeves are fully loosened (rotate counterclockwise until they’re snug with the screw).
3. When you have the desired size for your fixture snug one (or up to all) the pins by rotating them clockwise until you feel them gently press against the channel within the upper disk.
3. The Tension Lever
1. Pivoting the lever toward the disc center increases tension, making rotation more difficult. This, combined with tightening the index pins, aids in fine-tuning the position and alignment for engraving.

Utilizing all three of these components will ensure optimal precision, control, and functionality of the Self-Centering Fixture, leading to enhanced engraving performance.

Calibration

For optimal performance, each xTool F1 may necessitate a minor calibration process. This process is crucial to accurately fine-tune the precision of the self-centering fixture, ensuring that it operates at the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.

xTool Creative Space (XCS) [PC] -

1. In XCS, within a new design or a current design, create a circle vector with a Width and Height of 0.75 in.

2. Select the circle and using the alignment tools center the circle in the canvas.

3. Modify the Framing settings to be: Light Power - 10 / Mode - Outline.

4. With the Self-Centering Fixture properly installed, select the circle then press the Framing button. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard adjust the position of the circle until it is perfectly centered on the inner circle of the fixture’s upper disk.
5. Once you have your desired adjustment right-click on the circle, move it to a new layer and Lock the circle.

6. Make sure to toggle the Output for the circle to off so it won’t be processed with the rest of your canvas.

7. Click and drag any elements of your design to be snapped to the center of the circle.
